'enclosed listening' was created during the COVID-19 London lockdown in January 2021. Confined pretty much to my home, I created a rough map of the rooms of the house. I then took the time each day, or a couple of times a day, to stop and listen at various points in the space. I recorded these brief listening moments with a colour and a short description of what was heard, on tracing paper laid over the original map. Over a few days, the layers of listening built up, creating a 'listening map' of my home, recorded during this short period of time. The sounds are both external sounds, from the environment, and internal sounds experienced in my mind.
